10 things not say at an interview

Here at ShiftShack HQ we want to help you employees find work and help all you employers find the right person for the job. So in the spirit of helping you both we thought we would compile the top ten things not to do in an interview situation. Believe it or not these are actually real quotes and events that have happened. Employees, for your own sake, avoid repeating all of the below. Employers, if you hear or see any of the below happening in front of your eyes… call security and run!

Never:
1. Qualify your greatest achievement with, “Of course I was totally hammered at the time.”
2. Challenge your interviewer to an arm wrestle
3. Refuse to sit down and insist on being interviewed standing up
4. Ask: "Does your company have a policy regarding concealed weapons?"
5. Mention that your CV would have been stronger, but you didn't feel like making anything else up.
6. Point to the picture on your interviewers desk and ask: “who’s the babe”, it will almost definitely be their partner.
7. Say: “All I've ever wanted was an honest week's pay for an honest day's work.”
8. Tell the interviewer you can listen to them and your iPod at the same time
9. State that you are so well qualified that if you don’t get the job, it will prove that the company's management is incompetent.
10. Say you’re not interested because the position pays too much

The rest is up to you.
Good Luck!
